Hem-Col
At-home blood collection method
Hem-Col is a user-friendly method that allows patients to take a blood sample themselves by means of a simple fingerstick. This enables patients to collect a blood sample at home, whenever it is convenient for them. There is no need to visit a doctor, laboratory or phlebotomy unit.
The Hem-Col tube is the only blood collection tube in the world that has been validated and approved for shipment by air mail. This offers advantages when rolling out our services and solutions internationally. Blood sampled using Hem-Col is stable for most parameters for 3 to 5 days due to a unique additive solution which preserves the blood sample.
With the Hem-Col blood collection tube, 18 blood tests (biomarkers) can be carried out using only about 6 large drops of fingerstick blood;

At-home serum collection method
Ser-Col is a user-friendly method that allows patients to take a blood sample themselves with a simple fingerstick. Patients can do this at home or at work, whenever it is convenient for them. There is no need to visit a doctor, laboratory or phlebotomy unit. Ser-Col can be sent to the lab for analysis by regular post.
Ser-Col has the unique property that it separates the blood cells from the serum within a minute after taking the blood sample. Regardless of the time that elapses between sampling and analysis, most parameters in the serum remain stable for months.
Ser-Col manually
With this kit the laboratory can process themselves the dried serum in Ser-Col to liquid serum. See here for instructions for use.
Ser-Col storage
Storage of blood on a card less than 3mm thick. With this kit the laboratory can store blood, serum or plasma on a Ser-Col storage card by -20°C. The dried blood, serum or plasma can be processed to liquid blood, serum or plasma. See here for instructions for use.
SCAUT (Ser-Col AUTomation)
With the help of the European Union, Labonovum has started in 2019 with the development of a new Ser-Col device that can be processed fully automated.

First Scientific Publication Ser-Col in Acta Tropica – Elsevier
In this publication, Professor Edouard Tuaillon of the Institute of Molecular Genetics of Montpellier (Institut de Génétique Moléculaire de Montpellier (IGMM)) describes the use of the Labonovum Ser-Col blood collection device in comparison with plasma results and DBS results in a study of HIV, HBV, and syphilis among illegal gold miners in French Guiana. DNA sampling method
DNA-Col allows you to easily take a DNA sample, using a buccal or oral swab to take a saliva sample. Once the swab has been placed in the DNA-Col tube, the DNA-Col fluid will stabilize the DNA on the cotton swab. DNA-Col can then be sent to the laboratory by regular post.
DNA-Col has been validated for the 9 most common gene mutations in lactase deficiency.

SALIVA COLLECTION METHOD
Sal-Col is a user-friendly method that allows persons to easily collect saliva. By the use of a innovative foldable cardboard funnel even children, elderly or disabled people are able to collect saliva for laboratory diagnostics.
SAL-Col is validated for SARS-CoV-2 antigen in saliva which makes it easy to test children, elderly or disabled persons for a corona infection.
